Below is a list of questions we frequently get asked. If you don’t find the answer to you question here, feel free to give us a call or text at 406-530-5337.
No.
If you are staying in a VRBO or lodging that is requesting that you have 4WD you are fine.
Our Jeeps are built for comfort and not for off-roading.
They have not been modified in any way that would make them suitable for off-roading and doing so could cause serious damage.
We do allow certain forest service roads and if you would like to get out and about, we can provide you with some roads that you can take that would give you a really nice experience.
You must pay a $250 dollar deposit at the time a reservation is made. This blocks the time you have requested and makes it unavailable to anyone else. At 7 days prior to your rental date, we will automatically charge your final payment for the remaining amount due with the credit card on file.
We start getting calls for July of the coming year starting about August of the year before. For example, in August of 2017, we received calls for July of 2018. We do take these reservations. However, this reservation requires a $50 non-refundable deposit. The amount is applied to the deposit on the rental when the new year comes around and we are preparing for the month.
- For all rentals that are canceled prior to 7 days of the rental date, a full refund of the deposit is given.
- Inside of the 7 days prior to the scheduled pickup time, a refund of 50% of the deposit will be returned.
- If cancellation occurs within 24hours or the day of the rental, there is no refund of the deposit.
- Payment for rental is due before delivery day. Failure to pay rental invoice prior to delivery day may result in cancellation of rental.
- Refunds are not provided due to weather.
Rental car insurance coverage is your responsibility. Our insurance is 2nd in line of responsibility. We do offer Renters Collision Protection, an insurance product that you can purchase for an additional $25/day. If you are interested in more information about this product please give us a call at 406-530-5337.
We charge only by the day and not by the hour. Our daily billing window is from 9am-8pm. For example, if you are picking up on a Saturday and you will be returning on a Wednesday, the billing would be 5 days. Any pickup or delivery within that time window constitutes a daily charge. There are times when flights coming into our airport arrive very late in the evening or depart very early in the morning. We do make exceptions in this case. If your travel arrangements have you arriving or departing either early in the morning or very late in the evening, please give us a call at 406-530-5337.
In order to rent a jeep you will need a valid driver’s license and must be 21 years of age or older. Drivers under 25 will be charged an ‘under 25’ fee of $30/day. You will also need proof of full-coverage auto insurance from your primary vehicle (Collision, Comprehensive & Liability) and a major credit card for rental charges and deposit. To speed things up a bit, you could email a copy of your proof of insurance and driver’s license to jeep@rockymountainexpeditions.com.
We accept all major credit cards. No Debit Cards, Paypal or Cash
Our jeeps are 4 door models. The jeep can sit 2 persons in the front and 3 in the back. There is a cargo area behind the back passenger seat with 46 cubic feet of space. As a comparison, a Suburban has 39 cubic feet of space behind their passenger seat.
The rental will include 150 miles per day. After that it will be an additional $0.25 per mile. We’ll calculate that on the return of the vehicle by taking your total mileage and dividing that by the number of days.
We deliver! When you make your reservation we will contact you to arrange delivery of the vehicle in a way that is convenient to you. If you would like for us to meet you at the airport or if you would prefer to meet at your hotel. We’re flexible. For pickup, we’ll meet you at the same location when your rental is up.
We love dogs. We have one. If you have one you can bring him or her. But the vehicle will need to be returned free of any evidence that the dog was in the car. This means that any hair, dirt or odor needs to be taken care of before it is returned. If not, there will be a minimum of a $50 cleaning fee depending on how much cleaning needs to be done. If we are not able to rent the vehicle out to the next guest, you may be charged an additional rental day. We want to make sure the vehicle is in as good a condition as when you got it for the next person. Did you notice we didn’t mention cats? Cats are not allowed in the vehicles. Sorry.
Yes. We can certainly help you plan your trip. We’ll just need to have a chat about what you want to do. Yellowstone National Park is not very far away and the drive out to the park (no matter which entrance you choose) is beautiful. If you don’t want to go far there are plenty of things that can be done in or near town like fly fishing, kayaking, camping, hot springs, white water rafting, skiing, snowshoeing, etc. We can point you out to local guides. Keep in mind, we have winter here. Activities vary based on the weather!
That’s a bit far. If you’re landing at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) and driving up to Glacier we are your team! But if you are landing in Glacier, give a call to Glacier Jeep Rentals at 406-314-5337. They are located in that area and can help you out!
If you are flying into Bozeman then most likely you are flying into Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). Our airport is small and has a lodge like feel. When you land, you’ll exit your aircraft and be on the second floor. Our two baggage claims are located on the ground floor. CLICK HERE for more info about Montana airports.
Yes. We have Internet and Cell phones here. Be warned though, we have a lot of open areas and if you are out in the wilderness areas chances are you will have weak or no signal for your cell.
